J.M. Tull Gwinnett Family YMCA has created a new community garden to educate, involve and feed the community. 

They held a ribbon-cutting ceremony last Wednesday for the opening of the garden at 2985 Sugarloaf Pkwy in Lawrenceville, GA.

Partners, volunteers and well wishers joined members of the community for light snacks and a tour of the garden.

Volunteers are needed on Saturday, October 22, 2022 between  8:00 AM to 12:00 PM for weeding, planting, moving soil or mulch and other gardening activities. 

Sills and requirements necessary: 

  • must be 13 years old and up with adult/parent/guardian supervision 
  • must be able to be outside on a grassy field
  • What to wear and/or bring: 
  • wear comfortable closed toe shoes 
  • work clothing; will potentially get dirty 
  • bring work gloves if you have them; otherwise gloves will be provided  

All training will be available on-site and day of Gwinnett Great Days of Service shift.
